Mining Safety Officer

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will conduct inspections and incident investigations, liaise with relevant Government departments and stakeholders and ensure and enforce adherence
toSD standards. He/she will be responsible for recordkeeping and report writing, training and coaching all employees in matters relating to health and safety, hazard identification and risk assessment. Furthermore, the incumbent will report deviations to the requirements as set out in the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations and assist with corrective actions and assume full responsibility of a Safety Officer in terms of regulations 2.17.1 and 2.19.2.
Requirements: Applicants must be in possession
of a Grade 12 and valid Trade or Blasting Certificate with at least 3 years' experience in a supervisory position and at least 5 years' experience in an underground trackless mining environment. Efficient time management, strong managerial and leadership skills are vital, along with good communication and interpersonal skills and extensive computer literacy.
It will be required of the successful candidate to be able to function independently. SAP experience, good knowledge of all SD systems and a good understanding of the BBS process are essential.
A valid driver'slicence completes the profile.
