The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 10 or ABET Level 3
• Valid Blasting Certificate, or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
• Knowledge with regard to mine standards, best practices, risk management and operation business objectives.
• Technical working knowledge with regard to stoping, development, survey, equipping, explosives and safety policies, procedures and regulations is essential. Basic technical know leg de with regard to geology and rock mechanics would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Achieving daily and monthly targets.
• Monthly and daily planning.
• Ensuring that HSE standards and legal requirements are adhered to.
• Two-way communication.
• Co-ordinating, monitoring, coaching and developing his/her team/crew.
