  Instrument Technician        
  Responsibilities: The incumbent will implement and maintain process control systems within the plant, provide support to the production team by ensuring the safe and effective functioning of all instrumentation systems and will ensure the integrity of systems-generated data. The position includes the day-to-day management of staff as well as other business aspects: risks, plant availability, planned maintenance and shutdowns. The successful candidate will be required to install and perform maintenance on control systems, implement design solutions, and position and install components in the plant.

Requirements for all positions: Candidates should possess a Grade 12/N3 and a relevant trade test from a reputable institution or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Instrumentation field. At least 3 years’ experience in the instrumentation field in a mining environment is essential. The ideal candidate should be medically fit and possess sound communication skills. Knowledge of accident/incident investigation as well as basic health and safety is required, along with proficiency in English.

Wonderkop, a ferro-alloy plant, part of Xstrata Alloys, the world’s largest producer of ferrochrome, is situated ±20km from Rustenburg near Marikana in the North West. Dynamic individuals are required for the following positions:
