Brits – Police in the North West are investigating the drowning of a 12-year old boy from Brits in the Damonsville Dam.

Onthathile Mogape’s body was found in the dam on Friday 27 September, five days after he had last been seen playing soccer at the Damonsville sports grounds with friends.

Police spokesperson Adelé Myburgh told Platinum Weekly: “The theory at this stage is that the boy, a learner at Damons Primary School, attempted to swim and drowned.”

Investigations into the incident are not yet completed.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the parents, family and friends of Onthathile.
