Platinum Weekly Newspaper | Rustenburg — This Valentine’s Day, love was truly in the air as local couples shared their heartfelt stories in Platinum Weekly’s annual Valentine’s competition.
Kagiso Hlabathi and Christinah Rankoko — celebrating five years of faith, love and new beginnings.
Kagiso and Christinah’s journey began unexpectedly in 2021. Though not always smooth, their relationship was firmly rooted in faith. Through every high and low, prayer became their anchor as they trusted God to guide their path.
Now celebrating five years of love and blessed with a baby boy born in November, the couple look back with gratitude. Their story is a beautiful testament to perseverance, faith and divine love.
They walk away with the R1,500 first prize.
Ilana Jacobs and her husband Johann Jacobs — from first date to first baby, blessed beyond measure. Ilana and Johann began dating on 13 January 2019, got engaged on 16 April 2022, and were married on 17 August 2024. On 6 February 2026, they welcomed their first baby boy into the world — an answered prayer they describe as a blessing beyond measure.
After a busy hospital weekend and stepping into new parenthood, their Valentine’s spoil comes at the perfect time.
They receive the R750 runner-up prize.
