Rustenburg/ Tlhabane – Rustenburg Local Municipality through the implementation of Rustenburg Rapid Transport system, launched the Tlhabane Feeder Route Construction work on Thursday, 09 February 2017 at the Tlhabane Community Hall.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Mayor of the Rustenburg Local Municipality, MMC for Public Safety, Cllr. Lucky Kgaladi said the project that is estimated to the value of R82 million will be completed within 15 months.

“While construction is set to commence in February 2017, M Civils has been appointed as the contractor responsible for the Tlhabane feeder route construction and six sub-contractors including the labour fource will be appointed from Tlhabane. This project will not only improve roads in Tlhabane, but will also create job opportunities for unemployed residents of Tlhabane,” Cllr Kgaladi said.

He further urged the community to work with the municipality in order to move Rustenburg forward.

Named Yarona™ (meaning: It is Ours), this rapid transport system will provide people with an affordable, safer, faster and more efficient public transport service.
