Rustenburg – What better way of inspiring future gymnastic stars there is than handing them T-shirts adorned with the Olympian symbol?

In an impromptu gathering of family and gymnasts on 19 April at the gymnastics hall in Thabazimbi, Dr Anel Groenelwald, wife of Abraham Groenewald, handed each team member a shirt with the Olympic symbol.

Abraham Groenewald, owner and coach at Kruiskrag Gymnastics, reminded the high-performance team of their dream and their goal. “Keep dreaming, we dream of 2024, we want to remind you to dream big. This should inspire you to reach for the best in yourself,” he said.

This was a beautiful gesture to remind the kids to work hard and keep on dreaming. This high-performance team practices four days of the week for four hours. The gymnastics club is open every weekday afternoon. Children as young as four years may participate in gymnastics. Rhythmic gymnastics for girls are available from Mondays to Fridays. Trampoline gymnastics for boys and girls is scheduled on an hourly basis.

Gymnastics is a time consuming and physically demanding activity. Gymnastics teaches self-control, self-discipline and perseverance. Parents and family members are crucial to help athletes become their best.

Abraham and Dr Anel Groenewald dream of the 202 Olympics on behalf of their gymnasts.
