Lebone II College Glee Club to perform on TV with platinum-selling artist
Rustenburg – One of Lebone II College’s two high school choirs, Glee Club, has been chosen to perform at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) which will take place on 18 March at Sun City and will be broadcasted live on television.
The choir will be singing on stage with South African artist Amanda Black, in a specially arranged version of her hit song Amazulu. Amanda’s debut album, released in November 2016, reached platinum sales just three weeks after being released. The Glee Club has been working hard on rehearsing and doing pre-recordings of the item and our singers look forward to spending part of March 17 and all of March 18 on working with the production team, rehearsing on stage, meeting the superstars and making their families and friends proud.
The Lebone II choirs have been performing with quite a few popular performers lately which include Johnny Clegg in 2016 and this upcoming performance with Amanda Black. On 27 May both high school choirs will join forces to perform with Lira at a major concert being hosted at Lebone II.
The Amazulu song will be performed as part of the “In Memoriam” section of the show. The choirmaster of the Lebone II Glee Club is Bragi Þór Valsson (firstname.lastname@example.org).
