Rustenburg – Impala Platinum Mine hosted a sports clinic at the Newrak Impala Rugby Club on Friday 10 May.

Learners from Luca Primary School, Mogonono Primary School, Platinum Village Primary, Sunrise View Primary School, Vukuzenzele Primary School and Laerskool David Brink attended the clinic. The main purpose behind this event was to train and develop the talent of youth in netball, soccer and rugby.

Coaches and teachers from Rustenburg assisted by doing physical exercises and playing friendly matches with the kids.

In an interview with Platinum Weekly manager of Royal Bafokeng Sports Academy Andrew Mokgatle said: “It is important that we invest in our children.

We want to give children exposure and the opportunity to develop and participate in sports.”

“It was a fun day for the kids. They worked hard and played hard. Seeing kids doing what they love and coaching them to be the best they can be, is what the clinic was all about,” said business manager of Newrak Impala rugby club Naas Olivier.

The Newrak Impala Rugby team would like to invite the community to the Super Sport Challenge festival on Sunday 19 May. The local team will be in action at 10:30 so be sure not to miss out!
