Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Rotary Club is a non-profit organisation providing community services in and around Rustenburg. Their priority is the community.

They serve at nursery schools, primary schools and high schools as well as clinics, retirement homes and other areas where there is a need in the community. These needs are usually due to a lack of resources and support – as well as poverty.

One of their recent projects included Karlien Park Primary School that received teddy bears on 2 May. Rustenburg Rotary Club members handed out over 100 teddy bears to Grade R learners.

The club also managed to orchestrate 350 flu shots to the elderly at Spes Bona, Residentia Sering, Rustenburg Rusoord, Altkroondal Outehuis, Casa Valde Retirement Estate and Koster Tehuis on 1 May – just in time to keep them safe from the winter flu.

A shipping container with dehydrated starch was imported from America and donated to the Groot Marico Thusanang Creche Feeding scheme. The starch is small, compressed packages that can feed many children.

The food was handed over to the nursery school is enough to last them a full year.
They raise money for these projects through fundraisers.
