Rustenburg – This year, on 2 January 2017, Lizzy Mita King celebrated her 103rd birthday. Born before the commencement of World War I, this centenarian lives her life close to God.
In an interview with the Platinum Weekly newspaper, her daughter Elvie describes her mother as a devout Christian, never missing Sunday mass.
Lizzy gave birth to ten children of whom two tragically died during infancy. Her husband has also since passed. She has 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. “I am richly blessed with family and love,” says Lizzy.
“Even at the age of 103, my mother is strong, caring and passionate – a true inspiration for our entire family,” says Elvie. “We love her dearly!”
Lizzy loves to sing and to read from the Bible.
As a resident of Rustenburg since 2009, Lizzy joined the Central Baptist Church in Rustenburg. “Praise God for His abundant blessings upon her. Congratulations Lizzy!” Willem Odendaal of Central Baptist Church shared.
