Rustenburg – The North West High court sitting in Rustenburg under Judge President Leeuw, sentenced two Lesotho nationals, Sakane Kauku Molotsane (32) and Lebohang Masole Mathosa (35) to life imprisonment, on Monday, 20 March 2017.

The two Lesotho nationals murdered Lebohang Mathews Matlhole (25) in March 2015. They were also sentenced to an additional 20 years imprisonment for kidnapping, ten years for attempted robbery, fifteen years for the unlawful possession of a firearm and five years for the unlawful possession of ammunition. All sentences are to run concurrently.

Matlhole was murdered in Photsaneng, outside Rustenburg, after being shot twice in the chest.
“Detective Sergeant Qetya under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Chomela, spent sleepless nights investigating the matter and made sure that the culprits were brought to book within a month.

The Rustenburg station commander Brigadier Gertrude Modise welcomed the sentence and commended both detectives’ excellent investigative skills,” Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson, said.
