Tlhabane/ Rustenburg – The results of DNA tests carried out by North West Police have positively identified the remians discovered on 2 August as that of Kgothatso Molefe, a 7-year old learner from Tlhabane. She was reported missing three months ago. 

On Wednesday 24 July, Kgothatso did not return home from school. “An unidentified, burnt body was discovered on Friday, 2 August in Lefaragatlha by a passer-by.

DNA samples were collected and sent for forensic investigations,” police spokesperson colonel Adéle Myburgh said.

“The police are investigating a murder case after the DNA results confirmed that the body found was in fact that of Kgothatso,” she added.
