Brits – A 28-year old man, believed to be part of a spate of business robberies in Brits and Rustenburg, is set to make two separate court appearances in the next two months to answer for his crimes.

Talent Moyo, who was on a police list for the most wanted suspects in the North West province, was arrested on Saturday 2 November as he was discharged from Ga-Rankuwa Hospital.

Talent sustained serious gunshot wounds during a failed house robbery in Brits when a home owner shot him while he was committing the robbery.

After fleeing the scene, Talent was admitted to hospital under a false name.
Police spokesperson brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the officers who were investigating the house robbery and other cases, identified Talent and established his whereabouts while he was receiving medical attention.

The suspect appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court and will remain in custody until his second court appearance on Wednesday 27 November.

Besides the house robbery incident in Brits, the suspect is linked to several business robberies.
The police have established that the suspect played a key role in business robberies committed at the Panorama shopping complex in Brits on Monday 21 October.

During that incident, three shops at the busy complex were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash by 12 heavily armed men.

“The suspect is also linked to several other cases of business robbery committed in Brits and Rustenburg,” Sabata said.

He added that the suspect will be back in the docks of the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 January 2020 to face charges related to the other cases.

Investigations continue.
