Rustenburg/ Mooinooi – Members of the Rustenburg Cycling Club (RCC) competed in the ATKV Buffelspoort mountain bike race on Saturday 30 November.

The 50 km race offers competitors unique scenes of the Buffelspoort Dam and the amazing Magalies mountain range on a variety of tracks. In sharp contrast, the 18km route takes riders through an array of beautiful fruit orchards.

Those who still had the energy to continue competing were back on their bikes the following day to compete in the road race, which was held at the same venue.

Well done to Hennie Fourie, Alec Brough, Morne du Plessis, Thomas-Ross Peterson, Juan Nel and all the other RCC members who took part in these competitions. A special mention goes to Hennie, who was among the list of winners in both races!

Hennie Fourie was also among the winners of the road race.
Morne du Plessis (3rd in the 18km), Thomas-Ross Peterson (1st in the 18km) and Juan Nel (2nd in the 18km).
Hennie Fourie was the winner in his age category for the 50km mountain bike race.
