Two arrested for school burglaries
Sunrise Park/ Rustenburg – Two suspects linked with a series of school burglaries in various locations within the North West province were arrested on Monday 15 June.
The police caught up with them in Sunrise Park, Rustenburg. Some of the items believed to have been stolen from the schools have been recovered by the police.
Police recovered a projector as well as six cellphones from one of the suspects, a 32-year old Mozambican national. Police have also established that the suspect is in South Africa illegally. The other suspect was apprehended after police discovered another projector and 12 cellphones inside the bakkie he was driving.
Further investigations led the police to Modderspruit near Brits, where a laptop was recovered.
North West premier professor Tebogo Job Mokgoro has commended the police for these arrests. He also urged community members to assist with any information that may lead to the arrest of more suspects.
