Rustenburg – The Platinum Weekly newspaper was summoned to a gruesome scene on Monday 8 May 2017. The mutilated body of a reportedly young white female was found in a ditch next to Buiten Street, East End, Rustenburg.

According to Captain Elsabè Augoustides, police spokesperson, the woman was decapitated and her right hand was cut off. She was wearing a white jacket, off-white pants and black high heels.

This incident followed the discovery of a 45-year old black woman who was also decapitated. Her headless and decomposed body was found in the bushes near Dinie Estates on the old Pretoria road in Kroondal on Tuesday, 2 May 2017.

The police are investigating both murder cases and request that anyone with information contact investigating officers Detective W/O George Branders on 063-142 5137 (Ooseinde incident) or Detective Const. Bakang Diphoko on 072-361 3564 (Kroondal incident).

“We are urging our communities, especially women, to be alert and always ensure that they do not walk alone at night,” Rustenburg Cluster Commander Major General Adams, said.
