A baby girl abandoned, now in the care of Helen Lotz.

The baby girl, only a few weeks old, was found in Karlien Street, near a public park in Zinniaville on Tuesday, 2 May 2017 by a passerby – who immediately contacted Morné Engelbrecht of SACCW for assistance. According to Captain Elsabé Augoustides, police spokesperson, the baby girl was found abandoned under a tree, wrapped in a blanket.

Without delay, the SACCW team rushed to the scene and alerted the Tlhabane Police. The baby is now in the caring and loving hands of the staff at Môrester Child and Youth Care Centre.

“The baby was well dressed, which is unusual in cases like this,” Engelbrecht said. “She has a name, a mother and a father. Her parents or family must come forward,” Engelbrecht added.
