Rustenburg – Impala Rugby Club will be going out for their seventh win in as many games when they face Atteridgeville on Saturday 18 September.

The Rustenburg-based side, who are the only unbeaten team in the Carlton President League, will be hoping to use the familiar surroundings of the Impala Rugby Stadium to preserve that impressive record.

Impala coach Joel Scherman – who has done exceptionally well by putting together a very competitive team – is likely to rely on Hennie Mare, Robert Randall, Hanro Botha, Trevor Visser and other key players who have contributed to the success being enjoyed by the team this season.

Victory for Impala, who are currently second to TUT, could see them bouncing back to the top of the log.

However, such an eventuality will also depend on the outcome of the other matches that will be played this coming weekend. Atteridgeville – who are sixth on the log – could prove a dangerous team as they are determined to secure what will be their second win of their campaign in eight matches.

Additionally, starting off the match as underdogs means they will not be under any pressure and this could well count in their favour, especially if the usually solid Impala team are not at their best on the day.
