Tlhabane/ Rustenburg – In the Platinum Weekly issue of Friday 17 September, we reported how 28-year-old Gomotsegang Segaase – who completely relies on a wheelchair for mobility – could not afford one and was finding life extremely difficult because of her disability.

Thanks to members of the Tlhabane community who responded generously to her call for help, she now has a brand-new wheelchair.

Molotsi Foundation, a non-profit organisation (NPO) based in Tlhabane, appealed to the community to step in and help Segaase to raise money for a wheelchair. Within just two weeks, Segaase’s cries for help were answered.

“The community responded overwhelmingly by donating a wheelchair and groceries to the Segaase family,” Molotsi Foundation chairperson Orion Molotsi said.

“We would like to thank councillor Michael Malinga, Makie Lekwape, Kelebogile Khoza as well as Foro Spar, Paint Centre and Meintjies and Neethling Orthopaedics for responding generously to our call for assistance,” he added.

A brand-new wheelchair was handed over to Gomotsegang Segaase.
