Rustenburg – Four karate students training under renowned martial arts instructor kancho Albert Venter performed exceptionally well during a competition held in Brits from 8 to 10 October. 


Liam Janse van Vuuren, Grosjean Labuschagne, Abu Patel and Zinneerah Patel stood out head and shoulders above the rest at the competition. Van Vuuren won a gold medal in the kumite, kata and grappling contests before he also scooped a silver in the Bo Kata.

Labuschagne won two gold and one bronze while Abu and Zinneerah, who are siblings, scooped a gold and three silver medals in the kata events they took part in.

The four karate stars were congratulated by Venter, who is the founder of Traditional Styles Known Knowledge in Action (TSKKIA) All Styles.

Abu and Zinneerah Patel won a gold and three silver 
medals respectively.
Liam Janse van Vuuren won four medals. 
Grosjean Labuschagne scooped three medals.
