A slippery slide

Rustenburg – Trauma Rescue responded to an accident on the R24 before the Boons turn off at around 15:30 on Friday 6 May.

When they arrived at the scene, they found two trucks that collided - with the driver of one of the trucks trapped in the cab. He was treated on an advanced life support level and transported to Job Shimankana Tabane Provincial Hospital. 

The cooking oil which spilt from one of the trucks made for a slippery slide. The passers-by stopped to loot the cooking oil. That in itself created a much worse traffic pileup up than the accident itself. The wrecks were only removed at about 04:00 the following morning.
