Rustenburg – Bragi Þór Valsson, music teacher and choral conductor at Lebone II College of the Royal Bafokeng, is the driving force behind an adult choir (for ages 18+) in Rustenburg.

Anyone who wants to be part of this choir is more than welcome to join! The Rustenburg Community Chorus will commence with rehearsals on Wednesday 1 February 2017 at 18h00.

“After a very successful first year in 2016, I am very excited about this new musical year and have in fact chosen most of the music for the year already,” Bragi said in an interview with the Platinum Weekly newspaper.

The choir rehearses various music styles in various languages and no auditions are needed – as a passion for music is the only prerequisite.

The Rustenburg Community Chorus will rehearse on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 21:00 at the NG Church Proteapark. There will be weekly rehearsals, a few performances throughout the year, and a concert towards the end of November.

The participation fee is R220 per month per member, payable for 10 months (no fee for January and December).

Interested parties should contact Bragi per email on or 078-390 4299. For more information visit
