The case has been postponed several times. Tshela is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Onalenna, whose body was discovered wrapped in sheets at a flat in Tuin Street, Rustenburg, on 3 August 2025. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck.
Students and staff at NWU previously gathered at vigils to honour her memory and call for accountability and justice. Those who knew Onalenna remember her as a warm, determined young woman with a bright future ahead of her.
As the court process continues, Platinum Weekly extends its heartfelt condolences to Onalenna’s family, friends and the NWU community.
