Another court date, another wait for Santie’s loved ones

Santie Bothma (54), whose memory lives on among her family, friends and supporters of the “Be Her Voice” campaign.

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – The murder case of Santie Bothma (54) has been postponed again, with the next appearance scheduled for 24 November 2026 in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court.

The matter was previously scheduled for 22 September 2026. The case has already been before the court on several occasions.

According to the latest update, no bail was granted, and the accused, Corné Engelbrecht (22) and Roelien Hattingh (34), remain in custody.

They face charges of murder, robbery, hijacking and defeating the ends of justice in connection with Bothma’s death. Her body was discovered on Dinie Estate Road, Rustenburg, on 5 May 2026. Her vehicle was later recovered in Protea Park during a police operation.

The latest postponement means a further wait for Bothma’s family, friends and supporters. Through the “Be Her Voice” campaign, supporters have continued to stand alongside her loved ones and call for justice.
