Meet me behind the mask

Masquerade and Charity Auction Evening for In Touch Equine Therapy

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – Dress to impress, choose your mask and prepare for a night of mystery, glamour and unforgettable entertainment!

On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Hedgehog’s Nest will host a spectacular Masquerade and Charity Auction Evening in support of In Touch Equine Therapy.

Guests can look forward to welcome drinks, delicious food, dancing, wonderful music and a thrilling auction featuring luxury weekend getaways, exclusive experiences and premium prizes. Think Durban July glamour – with masks, mystery and a magnificent purpose.

Every ticket purchased and every bid placed will support In Touch Equine Therapy, where horses help children and adults facing special needs and physical or emotional challenges find confidence, peace, healing and hope.

Founded by Karen Spies in July 2010, the organisation has spent more than 16 years nurturing the remarkable bond between horses and people.

“Behind our masks are the faces of children discovering confidence, adults finding hope and families experiencing healing,” Karen said. Funds raised will help care for the therapy horses and maintain the organisation’s 18-hectare property. Current needs include equipment to maintain grazing fields, firefighting resources, safe hay storage and improved borehole infrastructure.

Hedgehog’s Nest has generously sponsored the venue, while additional partners and sponsors are invited to support the event.

Come for the glamour, dancing, prizes and mystery – and leave knowing that your night out helped create hope for someone else.
