A decade of dreams, stitched into the spotlight

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – Rustenburg Fashion Week marked its tenth anniversary by celebrating the people turning creativity into opportunity. The anniversary programme took place on 2 and 3 October 2026, with the fashion show hosted at Rustenburg Toyota on 3 October. From bridal elegance to striking designer creations, the showcase brought together talent from across the province.
Behind the runway glamour lies a decade of work to give emerging designers and models a platform. Founded by Gili Ramalekana in 2016, Rustenburg Fashion Week has independently organised fashion shows while reaching into farms, small towns and townships across North West to identify and uplift talent.
For this year’s showcase, the search extended across all four districts: Bojanala Platinum, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Ngaka Modiri Molema. More than 100 aspiring models attended auditions held during March and April, with 45 selected to take part in the show.
The platform brings emerging and established talent together, with a vision of positioning Rustenburg Fashion Week as the province’s fashion hub and helping fashion and modelling become meaningful sources of economic opportunity.
He thanked Ontlotlile Seemela, Xoli Moagi, Mpolokeng Botipe, Tshepo Matseba and Quinton Mohlomi, as well as MCs Dani de Bruyn and Tiisetso Masike, for their contributions for the Business Networking.
