NW GOLF NEWS

NW – The 2018 season has started with some exciting golf in the Far West Open played at Leopard Park Golf Club where three players were tied to proceed to a playoff to separate the winner, after all three players were on -2 for the day. 

Aldre Terblanche (Klerksdorp) walked away as the winner with an eagle in the 2nd playoff hole. Runners up were Albert Brits (Potchefstroom) and Johan Krugel (Rustenburg). The senior section was won by Joe Phiri (Rustenburg) with Amos Matunda (Leopard Park) as runner up. Lou van Rensburg (Sannieshof) won the nett and schools section, whilst Anton van Rooyen (Potchefstroom) won the B Section.

At the SA u/15 championship, Rorisang Nkosi excelled and obtained 3rd place, whilst Andre van Dyk (Klerksdorp) and Christiaan Burke (Potchefstroom) obtained top 20 finishes in both SA junior Noom events held last week.

The programme for the next couple of weeks includes 21 January: Lichtenburg Open; 21 January: Vaal Triangle Junior Open; 28 January: Klerksdorp Junior Open; 28 January: MooiNooi Open; and 4 February: North West Closed Championship (Klerksdorp).
