Rustenburg – A crime intelligence operation led by police’s K9 Unit in Boitekong and Phokeng resulted in the arrest of two suspects, both aged 34, for the possession and dealing in drugs on Tuesday, 27 March.

According to lieutenant colonel Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, the pair was arrested in Seraleng at approximately 14h00 after information supplied by a community member. 

Acting on the information, the police conducted a search and upon arrival at the suspects’ place, plastic bags containing dagga with an estimated street value of R67 000.00 were found inside the house. 

The suspects were apprehended and appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 29 March. 

The North West acting provincial commissioner, major general Ryno Naidoo commended the members for their cooperation that resulted in the arrest and confiscation of the dagga.
