Glencore empowers young girls 

Rustenburg – Throughout the month of August (Women’s Month) Glencore handed over sanitary towels to schoolgirls in their host communities. 
The Glencore sanitary towel drive, in partnership with Imbumba Foundation, kicked off on Friday 6 August. The first batch was distributed to learners at Rauwane Sepeng Senior Secondary School in Rustenburg. 
Glencore’s enterprise development superintendent Charlin Ntuli, the Imbumba team and well-known celebrities Proverb from Idols SA and Thuthuka Mthembu from the SABC television drama Uzalo, attended the handover. Glencore also brought along their inhouse nurse, Sister Tessa, who talked to the girls about menstrual hygiene and puberty education. 
Both Proverb and Thuthuka Mthembu shared words of encouragement on the day, reminding them not to let their circumstances negatively impact their bright future.
