Rustenburg – We constantly alert the police about a gang of seven people terrorising shoppers in the Rustenburg CBD. The cops did show up once or twice ... for about three hours… after which the gang just return to the streets.

27 motorists nabbed

Boitekong/ Rustenburg – In what was meant to be an operation to ensure compliance to Covid-19 regulations, the law caught up with 27 motorists with outstanding warrant of arrests against them. Vehicles were stopped by North West traffic police officers along the R510 just outside Rustenburg. 
The operation was led by provincial Department of Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Sello Lehari. Fines worth R18,500 were issued for non-compliance with Covid-19 regulations. “We need to cooperate and comply with the regulations to save lives,” MEC Lehari  said.

Rustenburg – A woman in Geelhout Park lost her car and lapa on Tuesday 29 June despite a spirited effort by helpful neighbours to contain the raging fire. Her house is located in Cornel Street adjacent to a veld, from which the fire is suspected to have originated.

Intruders ransack house in nature reserve

26 June 2021

Swartruggens - On Wednesday night, 23 June, residents of a well known nature reserve in this area were overpowered by three assailants. The assailants forced their way into the house pointing a firearm at the victims. They tied them up and looted cellphones, laptops and a revolver. A neighbour who heard the commotion, came to their aid. Fortunately, they did not sustain serious injuries.
