Fatal Gambling Dispute Ends in Prison Sentence
Rustenburg – A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for fatally stabbing another man during a gambling dispute at Ikemeleng informal settlement in Kroondal.
Andries Boy Boy Baloyi was sentenced by the Rustenburg Regional Court on Friday, 30 May 2025, following the June 2022 incident. The altercation reportedly began over a R50 bet and a dice board outside a tavern. When the victim tried to walk away, Baloyi followed and stabbed him in the chest. He died at a nearby clinic.
