Onalenna’s Case Postponed Again
Rustenburg – The case of North-West University (NWU) student Onalenna Selebogo (21) has once again been postponed. The matter was postponed to 11 December 2025 for further investigation, confirmed Sivenathi Gunya, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) communication officer for the North West Division.
Walter Tshela, the suspected killer, stands accused of brutally murdering his girlfriend, Onalenna, whose body was found wrapped in sheets at a Tuin Street flat in Rustenburg on 3 August 2025, after she had been stabbed multiple times in the neck.
Onalenna’s story has become a heartbreaking reminder of South Africa’s ongoing fight against femicide, sparking campus vigils and widespread calls for accountability. Friends remember her as a joyful, determined young woman who had so much more to give.
