Search for Kaome Moitlhabi ends after tragic crash discovery
Platinum Weekly newspaper | Swartruggens – The search for 37-year-old Kaome Aldriaan Moitlhabi, who went missing in July, has come to a tragic end.
North West police spokesperson colonel Adéle Myburgh confirmed that Moitlhabi’s body was found following a motor vehicle accident in Mogwase. The Toyota bakkie he had been driving – a blue 1983 model that disappeared with him – was also recovered.
Moitlhabi was last seen on 25 July 2025, when he left a Swartruggens farm in his employer’s bakkie without informing anyone where he was going. Despite extensive searches and investigations, no trace of him had been found until now. Police have opened a culpable homicide investigation into his death.
Colonel Myburgh expressed the SAPS’s gratitude: “The South African Police Service appreciates the community’s assistance throughout the search.”
