Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – The family of Caroline Werner (31), who was murdered in September 2022, is once again left devastated after yet another postponement in the case against the accused, Solly “Moya” Molefe (22).

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Sivenathi Gunya confirmed that the matter has now been postponed to 20 January 2026 for new Legal Aid to be appointed for the accused. This follows previous delays, including the November 2025 hearing which also failed to proceed after his Legal Aid contract expired.

For Caroline’s mother, Ella Blackbeard, every postponement reopens wounds that have never had a chance to heal.

“You know, with every postponed hearing, he hurts her again,” Ella told Platinum Weekly. “She is already like roadkill, and he is living comfortably off our tax money. And my beautiful child… I will never see again. My heart is broken and still nothing has happened.”

Caroline would have turned 35 on 16 January 2026. Instead of preparing to celebrate her birthday, her family faces another drawn-out wait — and another holiday season marked by grief.

Those who knew Caroline describe her as a vibrant, joyful woman whose presence could light up any room. Her family continues to hold onto her memory, refusing to let her story be forgotten as they push forward in the long, painful road toward justice.
