
Hit-and-Run in Watsonia Road claims pedestrian’s life
Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – A tragedy unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, 29 November 2025, when a pedestrian-vehicle accident on Watsonia Road, just before the Puma garage, left one person critically injured and later deceased.
According to reports, the pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle, after which the driver fled the scene, abandoning the patient on the roadway. The incident was reported at approximately 23:56, prompting an immediate dispatch from Rustenburg First Responders and the Trauma Rescue EMS Response Vehicle.
Upon arriving at the scene, responders found the patient in critical condition. Rustenburg First Responders and EMS personnel worked urgently to stabilise the patient until the North West Provincial EMS ambulance arrived. The patient was treated, stabilised, and transported to hospital for further medical care. Sadly, despite the efforts of all involved, the patient was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
Ammaar Wadee, administrator of Rustenburg First Responders, extended heartfelt sympathy: “Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength and comfort in the days ahead.”
The scene was jointly attended by Rustenburg First Responders, Trauma Rescue EMS RV, and North West Provincial EMS.
