Rustenburg – The Sibanye Stillwater SAPGM Rugby Club is gearing up for an exciting challenge as they prepare for South Africa’s prestigious Gold Cup national club competition. This weekend’s fixture is more than just a game — it’s the final step in their preparation for the big stage.

On Saturday, 13 September 2025, SAPGM’s first team will take on Valke Platteland at the Nigel Rugby Club. Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00, and the match promises to be a tough contest.

Head coach Joel Scherman explained that this weekend’s clash forms an important part of the club’s build-up to the Gold Cup, which officially kicks off on 27 September 2025. The Gold Cup is South Africa’s premier national club rugby competition, where the top 32 teams in the country battle it out for honours.
