Louis Meintjes keeps Rustenburg’s flag flying

Rustenburg’s own Louis Meintjes has once again proven his grit on the world stage, finishing 16th overall in the 2025 Vuelta a España, which ended on 14 September 2025. The three-week Grand Tour tested every rider, and Meintjes even bounced back after a crash on Stage 19 to secure his top-20 finish.

Looking ahead, the Intermarché-Wanty rider has set his sights on the Giro d’Italia, calling the challenge “a refreshing change.” With speculation that this could be one of his final seasons, Meintjes continues to inspire both teammates and fans — carrying the Rustenburg flag proudly through Europe’s toughest roads.
