SAPGM Rugby club kicks off a strong pre-season
Rustenburg – The Sibanye-Stillwater SAPGM Rugby Club is already hard at work preparing for next year’s fixtures, with pre-season training officially underway. Players are invited to join practice sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at 18:00 at the Sibanye-Stillwater sports grounds. The pre-season will run until 18 December 2025, before taking a short festive break and resuming on 5 January 2026.
Head coach Joel Scherman said the team is eager to build momentum and welcome new talent. “We’ve already seen a few fresh faces at training, and even more are on the way. This is going to be a big year for SAPGM Rugby — full of passion, progress, and teamwork.”
The club’s next big challenge will be a friendly match against the TUKS Varsity Team on 23 January 2026. The venue will be confirmed closer to the date. SAPGM plans to field two senior teams, an U/20 team, and a women’s team next season — a promising sign of growth and inclusivity within the club. To celebrate the end of a productive year, SAPGM will host its year-end function on 5 December 2025 at the Sibanye-Stillwater sports grounds. For more information, contact Joel on 079 754 3284.
