Tau and Pule shine at Soweto Marathon 2025
Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – On Saturday, 29 November 2025, the annual African Bank Soweto Marathon saw thousands of runners flood the streets of Soweto, in what many describe as an energetic, culture-rich race that blends endurance with township spirit.
In the half-marathon (21.1 km) — one of the marquee events in “The People’s Race” — runner Ishmael Tau smashed his personal best with an impressive time of 01:34:00, alongside teammate Thabiso Pule. Running for Run/Walk For Life Rustenburg, the two brought their club’s spirit to the heart of Johannesburg, finishing strong and proud.
