Don Takes Rustenburg Pride to the Podium

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – A huge shout-out to our very own Don Havenga for his outstanding performance at the Aurum Klerksdorp Marathon, held on Sunday 8 February 2026 in Klerksdorp. This exciting annual road-running event drew participants from across the region, offering a mix of distances from fun runs to serious qualifiers in a vibrant, spirited atmosphere. Don stood out among the field, earning 1st place in the Grandmasters category in the 10 km race – a superb achievement for our club and community.

The Klerksdorp Marathon is known for its friendly yet fierce competitive flair – a flat, fast course with enthusiastic support along the route that makes it both welcoming for first-timers and ideal for seasoned runners chasing personal bests or qualification times.
