Chaneng/ Rustenburg – Lesang Gregory Motlhabane, or ‘Tail96’ as he is known in local music circles, is optimistic about his future.

This multitalented producer, songwriter and performer – who lives in Chaneng, Rustenburg – won the Best Newcomer of the Year award in the national City Awards for 2021.

Every year City Awards holds a national chain of award shows across South Africa. With 15 categories related to the entertainment industry, there is something for everyone. The awards, which were supposed to be held in Gauteng, eventually took place online as part of efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Our very own local talent, Tail96, won the award for Best Newcomer of the Year after polling more votes than the other entrants in the same category.

“I have learnt that through hard work and focusing on my goals, I am able to achieve my dreams. I was proud to take the award home to Chaneng,” Motlhabane said.
