
Pila went to Paris
Rustenburg – One of the longest serving principals in the country, Mr Isaac Lesiba Pila, attended the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) awards in Paris on 5 October.
After he received a National Life Time Achievement Award in 2016, the National Department of Basic Education of South African identified him as the South African nominee representing about 435,000 teachers at the UNESCO awards at the World Teachers’ Day Gala in Paris.
Isaac Lesiba Pila has been a principal for 33 years and is now excelling at Rutanang Primary Enrichment Centre in Rustenburg.
He has made his mark in the educational arena and other progressive organisations like United School Sport Association of South Africa (USSASA), North West School Sport Association (NOWESSA), Love Life Organisations, South African Principals Association (SAPA), Rustenburg Sports Forums, Bojanala Schools Sports Association, and South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) – just to mention a few.
He also represented South Africa in Kenya and Australia on international and continental confederations of principals where networking and sharing good practices were eminent.
