Unity in diversity: Bakubung Primary’s Heritage Day!
Rustenburg - On Tuesday 26 September 2023, Bakubung Primary School came alive with vibrant colours and exuberant performances as students and staff celebrated Heritage Day. The day was a rich tapestry of cultural expression, underscoring the school’s commitment to fostering an environment where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated.
Bakubung Primary School Grade R educator, Kedibone Mathibe, expressed the school’s mission eloquently: “We want our learners to understand what it means to be proudly South African.” It is a sentiment that resonated throughout the event, as pupils adorned in various cultural attires showcased the country’s rich tapestry of diversity.
Bakubung Primary believes that instilling an appreciation for the myriad cultures that make up the nation is integral. The Heritage Day celebration was not just a display of cultural richness but a learning experience, promoting unity, tolerance, and a shared identity amongst the young minds, forging a future where differences are celebrated.
