Rustenburg – On Tuesday 30 April 2024 community members from Marikana, Sunrise Park, Boitekong, Freedom Park, Luka, Ledig, and surrounding villages gathered for a peaceful march to the Rustenburg Local Municipality. The purpose of the march was to address concerns regarding the city’s poor service delivery.

The marchers, carrying banners and chanting slogans, made their way to the municipality’s offices to hand over a memorandum outlining their grievances. The memorandum was accepted by a spokesperson from the Rustenburg Local Municipality, who assured the crowd that their concerns would be looked into.

The community members expressed frustration over issues such as unreliable water and electricity supply, inadequate housing, and poor infrastructure maintenance. They called for urgent action to improve these services and enhance the overall quality of life in Rustenburg.
