Rustenburg – Job Shimankana Tabane (JST) Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day on Friday 30 May 2025 under the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies.”

MEC for Health, honourable Sello Lehari, led the celebration and acknowledged the dedication of nurses, especially in the platinum belt. “You are the heart of the healthcare system,” he said, adding that JST’s nurses attend to more patients than most districts due to the lack of a nearby district hospital or 24-hour clinic. The MEC also announced exciting developments, including the launch of new nurse uniforms and the “Tshela ka Itekanelo” programme at JST.
