Rustenburg – On Saturday, 5 October 2025, community members gathered at Olympia Park Stadium for the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Family Day, hosted by the Rusty White Organisation. The event brought together locals, families, and NGOs for a meaningful day dedicated to awareness, remembrance, and hope.

The morning began with a symbolic walk in honour of cancer survivors and patients, followed by lively aerobics sessions that set an energetic tone for the day. During the emotional T-shirt signing ceremony, participants wrote messages and names of loved ones affected by cancer — a touching reminder of the fight many continue to face.

Guest speaker Stoan Seate shared uplifting words of encouragement, while cancer survivors and family members gave moving testimonies of strength and perseverance. Adding to the gesture of solidarity, Supreme Barber offered free head shaves to those wishing to show support for patients undergoing treatment.

The event offered something for everyone — food stalls, music, jumping castles, and live entertainment, creating a cheerful atmosphere for families. The radiant Prody Letsholo also joined the celebration, bringing warmth and inspiration to the crowd.

Each participant received a medal and goodie bag as a token of appreciation, and the day concluded with a soulful R&B and live music session, marking a fitting end to an event filled with compassion and community spirit.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Family Day served as a gentle reminder of the importance of early detection, emotional support, and standing together in the fight against cancer.
