Rustenburg – From bush cutting to rubbish removal, Our Ward Matters (OWM) continues to show that true transformation begins with teamwork. Led by André van Dyk and Cllr Tanya Rothman, and supported by the dedicated EPWP team, OWM has once again brought visible change to Wards 16 and 17 — even with the recent rain trying to slow things down!

20 October — Still Hard at Work
Although the weather made grass cutting impossible, the OWM team refused to stay indoors. One crew started in Azaleapark/ Selly Park, cleaning toward Greystone, then along the R24 near BP Garage and Waterfall Mall. Another pair tackled Dachill Avenue, clearing dumped waste and working through Cuckoo Avenue and the Checkers area. Meanwhile, a third team cleaned around Mike’s Kitchen, Total Garage, and Helen Joseph Drive, before heading down Waterberg, past KFC, Builders, and back along the R24.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Loelie from RE/MAX and her team for their efforts in Helen Joseph Drive — every helping hand truly matters!

21 October — Joining Forces
The next morning, the OWM family expanded! Cllr Jean Keyser, Cllr Martin Coetzee, and Cllr Tanya Rothman joined André van Dyk and Michael Rothman for another productive clean-up. The team focused on Timbati Veld, cutting grass and clearing litter before moving on to Watervalrivier, where they began cleaning along the water canal toward Krokodilrivier — to be continued the next day. All refuse bags from Timbati Veld were cleared and removed.
