Help turn rooms into homes at Lighthouse
Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – The Lighthouse Child & Youth Care Centre in Kruger Street is calling on the community to help with a new and meaningful project — decorating 14 children’s bedrooms for the children in their care. At present, the rooms are still undecorated and in need of colour, warmth and personality. The goal is to transform them into welcoming spaces that feel like home. Founder Elsa Doubell explains that the children themselves have chosen themes for their rooms. “The kids gave their rooms different themes. Community members can either visit the rooms or receive photos to decide how they would like to help decorate. It’s about making the rooms more personal, especially as more than one child shares a room.”
Lighthouse hopes individuals, families and businesses will get involved by helping to decorate a room or contribute items that will make the spaces more vibrant and alive. For more information or to get involved, contact Elsa Doubell on 083 493 5911.
