Rustenburg – The Platinum Weekly newspaper had the privilege to get acquainted with Naas Olivier, New-rak Impala Rugby club’s business manager. With keen knowledge and a love for the game, Olivier has just joined the team and has big plans for the year ahead.
The Rustenburg Newrak Impala Rugby Club men duly someone to be reckoned with! They are the best club team in the country for the last three years! Picture this… the club competes with about 1,000 teams nationwide and end up at the top!
For that reason I ask you – are you a man ... or are you a mouse? Because if you’re a man who likes a rugby-ball in your hand, teamwork to outwit your opponents and are willing to practice hard; you should join the club.

The Newrak Impala Rugby Club currently has five teams where you can sign up; their first, second and third teams, and the u/19 and u/21 teams. They train on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18h00.
The Assupol series already kicked off in February. Clear your schedule on Saturday, 4 March 2017. On this day, Impala will take on Boksburg in a home game. The club is community orientated and anyone is welcome to join and enjoy the game.
In addition, the club’s facilities are among the best in the country. Their premises can be rented for 21st birthdays, conferences and much more. They also have a liquor license and boast with three spacious bars. Three events/ occasions can be hosted at the same time at the facilities. During the final Gold Cup last year, the club hosted about 4,500 people in one day!
“Everything we do here is aimed at giving back to our players,” said Olivier. “We deliver top rugby players. So we ask the community to get involved. Our guys work hard. After a long day at the office, they run out on the field to train. But...” Olivier said, “Our men also need a sustainable income.
hould there be any business or organization that can help to provide employment opportunities for our men, we need to talk. We have the responsibility to plough back into our players, and we cannot do it alone.”
